Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by various sources. They could run utilizing gasoline, liquid propane or LP gas, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for many applications. There are several facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they require. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders which could be changed out when the machinery must be refueled.
So as to prevent possible serious injury, specific precautions must be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. For instance: be certain to put on the appropriate safety equipment like heavy gloves, goggles or safety glasses. Make sure that you turned off the ignition of the forklift prior to changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is firmly closed. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Keep in mind that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never use a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
