A type of vehicle that is meant to move containerized cargo in small and mediumsized ports and terminals is called a reach stacker. Reach stackers are perfect for quickly shuttling containers short distances and piling them in rows.
Reach stackers are a popular choice for handling intermodal cargo containers because of their flexibility. They are capable of stacking higher than forklift trucks. With a reach stacker capable of second row access, container blocks can be kept four-deep.

Kinds of Forklift Reach
Normally used on construction sites is a type of forklift known as forklift reach. It is outfitted with really large tires that provide great stability on uneven terrain and a boom. The forklift reach is available in the following variations:
The Stand-Up Reach includes a narrow width that makes it appropriate for racked pallet storage.
The straddle Reach has outriggers and hydraulic-like scissors attachments attached at the front.
The Double-Deep Reach is equipped with an extended reach device that allows the storage of pallets in double-deep racks.
