Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is essentially a motorized version of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
The walkie type as the name implies, is made to enable the operator to walk alongside the machinery while they pick up and transport cargo. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are ideal for frequent moving of loads over extended distances in warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are really maneuverable and fast.
It is important to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and thus, it is not recommended to transport tall or unstable loads utilizing these equipment. A rider might be the perfect answer if you are searching for a cheap way of transporting loads from one location to another. If though, you should move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the right choice.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machine is specially designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the load and the operator in order to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Typically, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle which can function in smaller aisles. They are extremely useful pieces of machinery in cycle counting situations as well as during physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more common.
