Types of Hydraulic Cranes
Hydraulic cranes are among the most commonly utilized types of crane in the construction industry. They are utilized to build everything from buildings and skyscrapers to roadways and freeway overpasses.

There is a huge variety of crane models, styles and sizes available on the market. There are a lot of different kinds in order to serve a variety of different reasons within the industry. Choosing the right kind of crane is vital for making sure that the material can be safely and efficiently moved to the location it needs to get to in order for the construction process to begin.

Truck Cranes
Normally, truck cranes have 2 different cabs. One cab is for controlling the crane and the other is for driving the truck when the unit is in transport mode. These cranes are very useful for building sites where a crane is needed in numerous different locations for the duration of the build. This is because of the fact that the crane can be easily driven from one location to another.

Cranes can also be transported to different construction locations on the road as they drive themselves, which eliminates the need for extra transport vehicles. Being able to travel on their own greatly reduces transport expenses at the end of the day.

One drawback of a truck crane is that it is not stable enough sitting on tires alone in order to be able to lift the major loads that a hydraulic crane can handle. Thus, to be able to fix this issue, outriggers could be extended from the deck. The outriggers use hydraulic pressure in order to slightly lift the truck off of the ground, making it stable and balanced.

Crawler-Mounted Cranes
Crawler cranes feature huge tracks on the base of the crane. These massive tracks are similar to the ones seen on other construction machinery like backhoes and bulldozers. The tracks enable the crane to move around a construction site successfully.
